Biography

Lydia is a Bristol-based director who is currently studying on the MA Drama Directing programme at BOVTS. At Old Vic she is assistant director for Emelia, directed by Sally Cookson. Previous to the course, Lydia trained as a musical theatre performer at the Bristol Institute of Performing Arts, where she was a performing arts lecturer for ten years.

Lydia’s style is immersive, courageous and bold with elements of music and movement. Her aim as a director is to showcase the voices of people from global majority backgrounds and queer LGBTQIA+ communities and shine a light on their stories.
