Han is originally from Birmingham where they began their career as a playwright.¬† This Time was written for the Young Company at The Birmingham Rep in 2019.¬† Since then they have branched into creating theatre for grown-ups, and mostly write with a political lens, exploring power, injustice and revolution.¬† In their Masters year they’ve focused on DIRTY, a play about modern day slavery.

They have enjoyed seeing their work at venues around Bristol including the PRSC, Bristol Improv Theatre, the Winston Theatre, Lost Horizon and the Loco Klub.¬† They’re interested in theatre that’s gritty and powerful but still retains a sense of playfulness.¬† In Autumn 2023 they’re taking DIRTY¬†to the first of it’s fringe festivals.¬† Future projects they’d like to pursue include writing a “Birmingham Mythic”, completing their play about goblins in the garden shed and writing disability theatre.
