Biography

Jon joined Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in August 2006 and continues to balance freelance Production Management work around his Theatre School commitments.

Jon has production managed countlessly shows for Theatre Royal Bath Productions including: Abigail’s Party (Director Sarah Esdaile, Designer Janet Bird / National Tour), The Libertine (Director Terry Johnson, Designer Tim Shortall / Theatre Royal Bath and West End), While The Sun Shines (Director Christopher Luscombe, Designer Rob Jones), Thérèse Raquin (Director Jonathan Munby, Designer Mike Britton / National Tour), King Lear (Director Lucy Bailey, Designer Bill Dudley).

Prior to joining BOVTS Jon was Production Manager for the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon and spent ten years production managing the National and International tours of D’Oyly Carte Opera Company.

Jon’s background prior to Production Management was Stage Management working at The Crucible and Theatre Royal York.  Jon trained on the Stage Management Course at Guildford School of Acting.

I’m constantly delighted by the talent, commitment and drive of our students. Their curiosity and joy in the work gives us all energy and keeps me on my toes! My goal is to ensure that their voices serve their acting - both in theatre and recorded media. They need to be able to project, learn accents, respond to a wide variety of texts and have a voice that is healthy and be able to sustain long tours and tough filming schedules. This involves them working extremely hard – but having fun as well. When the new students see the final year students in production for the first time I know they’ll come into class the next day fully understanding the high standard they’re working to achieve.
