Welcome to the 2021 GENERATE Online Exhibition, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School’s online showcase of the work of graduating students from the Costume, Performance Design, Production Arts and Scenic Art courses.

We’re delighted to share the work of our graduating students with you. Showcasing their talent to both industry leaders and the public is the culmination of their training and we’re incredibly grateful for you taking the time to visit these exhibition web pages.

This year’s graduates will be embarking on their professional careers at a time of great uncertainty for the arts and entertainment industries. The way in which they’ve risen to the challenge of completing their training remotely or under Covid secure conditions has been exemplary; coupled with their individuality, we’re confident that our 2021 cohort have the tenacity and vision to be change-makers as the industry adapts and recovers from Covid-19.

We hope that the galleries linked below will do justice in showcasing their immense levels of talent, and that the video content will give you a flavour of how our Production students have continued to remain creative under lockdown conditions. We’re incredibly proud of all of them. As ever, thank you for your support.

I’m constantly delighted by the talent, commitment and drive of our students. Their curiosity and joy in the work gives us all energy and keeps me on my toes! My goal is to ensure that their voices serve their acting - both in theatre and recorded media. They need to be able to project, learn accents, respond to a wide variety of texts and have a voice that is healthy and be able to sustain long tours and tough filming schedules. This involves them working extremely hard – but having fun as well. When the new students see the final year students in production for the first time I know they’ll come into class the next day fully understanding the high standard they’re working to achieve.
