Overview

This summer is the debut of our youth film camp. We will be taking a look at the art of film making from all sides of the camera. How light plays a vital part in your cinematography and also your acting. How a director can play with the mood of a scene to completely change its look on film and how a lighting designer can create a story just through the choice of light and shade.

The summer camp will be running in 3 groups:
Downstage for ages 7-10
Stage Left for ages 11-14
Stage Right for ages 15-18

Bursaries

Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is able to award some full and partial bursaries which are available to support young people to participate in its youth groups and short courses.

All applications for bursary places will be considered and there are many criteria we use to assess applicants. These include, but are not limited to: applicants in financial hardship; disabled applicants; applicants from low areas of progression to higher education; applicants in care/care leavers or groups of people who are considered ‘hard to reach’.

Funding will be allocated on a case by case basis. Applications will open later in the spring.

Students developing and growing in confidence during their time here, seeing their work reaching professional standards in approach and execution; a student who intends to be a stage manager producing a wonderful sound design; a first year student making a lovely recording of a song for their recording project; tracking the careers of former students and seeing them be successful; being able to find a job opportunity for a recent graduate.
