A play from Romania

By Caryl Churchill

Directed by Max Key

Mad Forest immerses us in the tumultuous world of the 1989 Romanian Revolution. Fuelled by Caryl Churchill’s vivid storytelling, dark humour and fantastical imagination, we follow the remarkable story of two families whose lives are forever altered by the revolution.

As relevant today as when it was written, Mad Forest embraces a richly theatrical style, introducing us to a vampire, a talking dog and an angel among others along the way.

It presents a kaleidoscopic and surreal look at life under oppression and the painful difficulties of lasting change.

This production showcases the work of our MA Acting students (International).

Students relaxing outside of the School
The School is in a beautiful part of Bristol, overlooking a huge park called the Downs. We sometimes take advantage of our close proximity to the Downs during the summer term, practising fight and dance routines, or voice or singing classes! Dan Hall, BA Professional Acting student
