The BFI Film Academy at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School

Taught by film & TV professionals, participants enjoy masterclasses, take part in career events, gain a qualification and the Academy can support you with applications for further education and work placements.

Based at Christchurch Studios - The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School’s own professional production studio - which includes edit suites, sound & dubbing suites, a live room and production office.

At the Academy you will work together as a crew to make one short drama with elements of animation. This is a hands-on course from the start. There are opportunities in production, directing, acting, animation, camera, sound, and post-production, all on broadcast-standard kit.

The BFI Film Academy Network Programme aims to help train and inspire the next generation of British filmmakers, supporting talented and committed young people aged 16-19 to develop the knowledge and skills to help make a career in film a reality.
